1) Design in shades of grey, add your photos and other important elemnets after and slowly add little bits of colour one at a time.

2) Put social media icons at the bottom of your web page because that way people are more likly to stay on your web page rather than go on your facebook page.

3) Keep the navagation simple. Don't use multi-tier drop down menu's and limit the number of links you have, so people don't get overwhelmed.

4)Remove the side bars, this increases readers attention on the article, and people are more likly to read it from your first sentance to your call to action at the end.

5) Design your lay out first on a whiteboard or piece of paper so you can easily erase and get other peoples opinions, and inputs, no computer nesasary.

6) Make sure your web page loads quickly. You could have a amazing web design but only a few people will see it if it takes a long time to load. Try to keep loading time to 15 seconds maximum.

7) Don't be afraid to leave white space. You don't need to cover all the available space. Don't over clutter your web page.

8) Keep your fonts simple and something that will work on all brands of devices. Also make sure it's not too small on a moblie device.

9) Say what your links are and give some background about them, aviod "click here".

10) Make sure to add contact information. It may seem unconforatable but you could create long lasting customers, and you are making yourself seem more approachable and friendly.
